It has been a whirlwind this last week. I am now ready and more than proud to finally introduce the newest addition to our family, Vera Marlene. She was born on September 9, 2015 at 9:35am. She weighed in at a healthy 7.12lbs, and 20.5 inches long.
I studied hypnobirthing, and highly reccommend it to any mom-to-be. Delivery was the most amazing thing. The nurses were wonderful, I left feeling like I made a few new best friends. They were very supportive and followed my birth plan without a hiccup. The room was quiet and peaceful with little intereptions from medical staff. When it came time to start pushing, Miss Vera wasn’t in the optimal position. But being as determined as I am, I wasn’t taking “no” as an answer. I began to cry while pushing in anticipation. I couldn’t stop saying how excited I was to see her. All I wanted was to hear her cry and hold her in my arms. Suddenly, the moment I have been hoping, wishing, and dreaming for came true… I was finally snuggling my precious angel, skin-to-skin. She stared right at me for what seemed to be eternity as we met for the first time. She was so calm as tears rushed down my face and I was gasping for breath in this beautiful moment. The rest is history and we are forever changed by this sweet adorable angel I get to call my daughter.
Thank you to everyone for being supportive and giving Ed and I time to adjust and bond with our bundle of joy. Life could not possibly be any sweeter.
What a beautiful blog post. Congratulations. xx
